Declaration Fee (Definition)

Initial fee charged by an alternative site when a customer wishes to use that site. Payment of the fee covers the costs of the site owner in making the site available and operational, as well as discouraging site usage unless a significant disruption has occurred.

Some alternative site suppliers may apply the declaration fee against the cost of the first few days of site occupancy after a disaster has been declared.
