Asynchronous Replication (Definition)Technique for replicating data between databases (or file systems) where the system being replicated does not wait for the data to have been recorded on the duplicate system before proceeding. Asynchronous Replication has the advantage of speed, at the increased risk of data loss during due to communication or duplicate sytem failure. See Also: Synchronous Replication.
