The Risk of Not Having a Landline
Can not having a landline get you killed?
Does anybody else find it intriguing that so much is being made of the fact that Osama Bin Laden’s hideout in Abbotabad didn’t have telephone or internet? It’s being presented as if this alone was the conclusive proof that the compound was occupied by the super-villain himself.
It’s being implied that this was because he was a luddite, or was concerned about the security of using new technology.
But perhaps he was just ahead of the curve: like many people today he couldn’t see the point of being tethered to a landline.
