Staying Safe: Firearms and Weapon Attacks

With recent news events, it may be worth reminding staff what they should do in the event of a firearm or weapon attack.

The National Police Chief's Council (NPCC) in the UK has issued a useful video about what to do in the case of a hostile/armed intruder.

Police advice in other countries is broadly similar. See (for example) Active Shooter: How to Respond (PDF), a booklet prepared by the US Department of Homeland Security.
